The acclaimed In the Place of Justice by Wilbert Rideau has been shortlisted for the prestigious Crime Writers’ Association’s Gold Dagger for Non-Fiction. The judges found the book “heart-warming”.
Rideau’s editor at Profile Books, Rukhsana Yasmin says: ‘I am thrilled to see Wilbert Rideau’s powerful biography shortlisted for the CWA. In The Place of Justice is an incredible story of life behind bars in America’s most violent prison. Told with brutal honesty and at its core a story of extraordinary redemption, this book will stay with you for a long long time to come.’
The winner will be announced at the CWA Daggers Awards Ceremony at the Theakston’s Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival, Harrogate on Friday 22 July. For the full shortlist and more info on the CWA Dagger Awards go here
