Money really does grow on trees! You can find out why in Tony Juniper’s new book, What Has Nature Ever Done For Us? which floats an idea whose time has come: that nature provides trillions of dollars’ worth of hidden services – everything from pollination to waste control to synthesising the sun’s energy into stuff we can eat. The global economy is based upon these things. No nature, no economy. Tony has crunched the numbers and some of the figures are astonishing. You can hear Tony discuss his ideas on BBC Radio Three Nightwaves on Thursday 10 January, and on BBC Radio Four Start the Week on Monday 14. Read more in the Guardian online here. Tony is also doing events around the country – please check our events pages for further information.
